Testing laboratory for air analysis of the LLC ‘Acoustic Design Institute’ is prepared to conduct the following types of testing:

  • - Atmospheric air testing (on the border of the sanitary protection zone (SPZ));

  • - Industrial emissions testing.

  • - Working area air testing;

Laboratory testing of the atmospheric air

Such testing is required to be performed in a certified air analysis laboratory.

Usually air testing is necessary for the following purposes:


Calculations of the Sanitary protection zone (SPZ) border and air testing on the SPZ border

Conducting atmospheric air analysis on the SPZ border and actual SPZ calculations imply determining expected volume of industrial emissions.

After SPZ project development and approval, atmospheric air testing is performed in certain points (control points) representing a supposed border of the Sanitary protection zone.

It is required to perform thirty atmospheric air tests on the SPZ border for verification of the calculation data which underlies the SPZ project.

The enterprise can establish the SPZ size (to develop the SPZ project) based on the information received on testing completion and have it approved by proper regulatory authorities (our company fulfils documents support in all necessary authorities).

Sanitary protection zone borders approval

In this case atmospheric air samples are taken at control points, which are indicated in the project documentation in advance.   However, testing data has to validate the numbers received during preliminary testing.

Laboratory testing of the atmospheric air taken at control points determines concentration of the substances typically emitted by some production facility or other.

SPZ border downsizing

It is required for an enterprise to conduct atmospheric air analysis on the border of SPZ to have a possibility to downsize its assigned sanitary protection zone.

Besides atmospheric air, it is also required to perform noise and sometimes EMR level measurements (if there are power transmission lines or transforming substations nearby).

Obtaining construction permit

To obtain a construction permit it is necessary to conduct atmospheric air analysis according to nineteen indices.

Quantity of samples and control points is selected depending on location and area size.

Putting the facility into operation

Laboratory testing of the atmospheric air is usually performed in the area affected by this production facility (selected samples are tested for substances which are typical for this production)

Conducting industrial environmental monitoring

Industrial environmental monitoring program in the range of enterprises involves atmospheric air testing on the SPZ border.

Testing frequency, the number of control points and indices for analysis are specified in the program.

Atmospheric air monitoring on the SPZ border

The most common indices for atmospheric air chemical analysis are the following: nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, methane, benzol, xylol, carbon (carbon black), petrol, formaldehyde, suspended materials, benzapyren, fluorides, carbohydrates, iron oxide, manganese and its compounds. Besides the standard set of substances for analysis, the accreditation scope of our air testing laboratory includes ‘exotic substances’, such as aniline, methylaniline, propanal, tetrachloethylene, ethyl formiate, hexalnethylene and many others.

Atmospheric air monitoring on the SPZ border is a part of the set of studies and the basis of general environmental condition evaluation of the event.

Overall air pollution evaluation can be formed after prolonged monitoring (the results over a year are required).

It is also necessary to take into account that atmospheric air sampling is conducted under certain meteorological conditions (for instance, a certain wind direction and temperature as low as -4 degrees).

Working area air testing

Putting the facility into operation

In this case working area air evaluation is supposed at particular work places (air sampling is conducted for substances typical for this type of production).

Implementing production supervision

Production supervision with regard to working area air testing is conducted in strict adherence to production supervision plan – PSP (our specialists can help with PSP development).

PSP strictly regulates air sampling for working area air testing.

Enterprise production supervision program determines air sampling frequency (monthly, quarterly, annually), a number of points and the list of substances to be tested.

Conducting work place assessment

Working area air testing is compulsory when conducting work place assessment of working conditions.

Testing samples are selected for substances typical for this type of production (these can be substances used for production or emitted in the process of production).

Accreditation scope of our laboratory allows us to conduct working area air testing even for rare substances and elements.
